Pre-Christmas weight: Around 176 pounds
Post-Christmas weight: 184! Yikes! 8 extra pounds??
Today's weight: 179 pounds... whew!
What's going on here?
Some quick math: 1 pound of fat is 3500 calories. 8 pounds of fat weight gain would be 8 x 3500 calories, or 28,000 excess calories.
That's not possible.
I ate a lot, don't get me wrong, but there's no way I consumed 28,000 excess calories in two weeks!
I quickly went back to a 2000 calorie/day diet, and by today (about a week later) I'm down to 179 again.
Moral of the story: The scale is a useful tool to measure weight loss, but it's not perfect and has to be offset by some common sense!
